Welcome!
Our certified academic coaches and advisors assist and support students in selection of majors, life & career callings, and academic success. Services and resources offered to students include:
- Academic Support Services
- Change of Major Counseling
- Academic Advising for Undecided Majors
- Academic Advising for Associate’s Degrees
We also assist students struggling academically during midterms. Students meet with academic coaches and together they create a midterm action plan to use as a roadmap to complete the semester successfully. All ASE students will be coached by the Student Success Center during their first semester at Carson-Newman University.
Academic coaches always provide resources and tools to equip students needing assistance with study skills, time management, and much more. Students are encouraged to visit our Student Success – Quick Links to access links and materials.

The Student Success Center serves as the academic advising home for freshmen and sophomores who have not determined their academic major. Our staff members are happy to serve deciding students with course selection, registration, and academic planning. Additionally, we have resources (see links below) available to assist in the decision-making process of declaring a major and determining a career choice. Students are encouraged to come to the Student Success Center for counseling in declaring or changing a major. Once a decision has been made, then students can visit the Registrar’s office to begin the process. If you have any questions, then please come and see us on the second floor of the library.
